One of Meagan's friends shared these words when her family of choice gathered in Atlanta to celebrate her birthday in 2023, after she passed. Meagan never wanted to be defined by her mental health struggles. Throughout her adult life, she balanced two callings: pursuing art as an expression of who she was, and pursuing medical research as a way to create new wellness possibilities she wished for herself and others. Meagan hoped for a future in which more people could find a greater sense of connection, purpose, and joy in their daily lives.

Though she is gone, the community Meagan inspired remains. From that heart grows Sunflower Outreach–a community rooted in wellness, empowerment, creativity, and a family of choice for creatives.
